Now in its second year, the history of the Mall comes alive on Bartlet Mall Day with toe-tapping Old New England tunes, costumed re-enactors, and informative signage by many treasured local historic organizations who are on hand to share their knowledge.

Learn about the layered and incredible historic significance of the Bartlet Mall, including information on Victorian era landscape architect Charles Eliot, the Mall’s notable George Washington statue, the oldest functioning courthouse in the nation, how rope was made at the Mall, and a World War I memorial to a native son.

Cash beer garden courtesy of Newburyport Brewing Co. with 50% of their proceeds going to the Newburyport Parks Conservancy. Delicious food and non-alcoholic beverages from Mall neighbor Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Newburyport. Kiddos will love puppet shows by Theater in the Open and hanging with the Newburyport Fire Department.

Don't miss your chance to win a painting of the Mall by local fine artist Susan Spellman or the 50/50 raffle! All funds benefit the Newburyport Parks Conservancy. Additional donations welcome.

This is a dog friendly event.

Thank you to our local Mass Cultural Council sponsors (Newburyport, Salisbury, and West Newbury).
